Kamogi Ranch, II Pinguan Farm, Kenya | Kenya Ranch

KAMOGI FARM IL PINGUAN HOUSE We are situated in the Great Rift Valley which cuts through Northern Kenya in a series of mazy peaks and depressions creating some of the most magical scenery found the world over. Just yards away is the Il Pinguan lugga (seasonal river bed) which traverses the Laikipia plateau for 100 miles before feeding into the Ewaso Ngiro River. The Il Pinguan acts as a staple water access point for a flourishing ecosystem that includes 200 year old acacia forests, herds of buffalo, elephant, gazelles as well as their predators the lions, leopards and cheetahs. The house itself can sleep up to 10 people in exquisite comfort with a honeymoon suite slightly separate from the rest in amongst a rocky outcrop surrounded by age old boskia trees. Kamogi is a working farm with 500 head of Boran cattle and 800 Dorper sheep. There are also 2 donkeys which deliver water to the Boma's (corrals), 6 horses and 25 camels to take on safaris. CUISINE Mungai is a fantastic cook who makes superb home made ravioli, bread, pizza and muesli. He is also a genius with soufflés, risotto and a variety of asian recipes. He speaks English and can read so please feel free to have a look through our cookbooks and show him any new recipe that you are keen on. He is ably assisted by Rueben who is assuming cult status in the kitchen in his own right! He will take extraordinary care of you in and around the house. All the vegetables are grown in our garden and are picked daily for you unless the elephants have got there first!
